UW-La Crosse wins WIAC Tournament

Four individual champions lifted the UW-La Crosse wrestling team to the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament championship Friday, February 9 in Whitewater.

Badgers fall to No. 14 Nebraska

Visiting Nebraska won seven of 10 matches en route to a 24-10 over Wisconsin at the UW Field House Friday night.

Coaches hope out-of-state challenges lead to state tournament success

With the onset of February comes the beginning of the state tournament series.

This portion of the season is the subject of a cliché used regularly in wrestling rooms: peaking at the right time. Well, the “right time” is here.

And while the phrase may be a bit stale, the process of achieving that goal comes in a variety of forms.

From weight management strategies to specific training regiments, each program has its own way of preparing wrestlers to (hopefully) deliver their best performances as the stakes climb higher.
